Texts to Pray for your Children
John Bloom, Executive Director of Desiring God, shared this post on their blog. If you have kids (young or old) these are good passages to pray for them.

Meditation on John 17:1-5
This is the post I referenced in the message on Dec. 7th, 2008.
Scripture
Soft or Harsh?
Proverbs 15:1 says, "A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."
Whether an answer is soft or harsh does not depend entirely upon the person giving the answer. They must also consider their audience. Here are a couple of examples that could be either 'soft' or 'harsh' depending who you say them to.
Someone says, "I'll give them a piece of my mind!"
Answer: Are you sure you can afford to be giving pieces away?
Someone starts yelling at you.
Thank you, Lord, for Bill Douglas
My brother, friend, and hero in the faith Bill Douglas had the greatest gain of his existence last night - the Lord took him home. Only a few weeks ago Bill and I sat in his room and talked about the passage where Paul says, "to live is Christ, and to die is gain." Bill looked forward to being with the Lord like few I've known. His faith inspires me. Read this poem Bill wrote about his battle with cancer and see if his faith doesn't inspire you too. And one more thing before I hand this post over to Bill...he'd want me to ask you if you knew the Lord. If not, would you contact me?
