Suffering is one of God’s means of purification.
There is no other task more worthy than to give glory to God.
Don’t be surprised when we don’t know things; but trust the one who does know all things. We need to have informed and realistic expectations so we are not surprised.
If we are sharing in Christ’s sufferings and rejoice, we can expect rejoicing and gladness at Christ’s second coming. The inverse is also true – if we look at following God and say ‘no’, we should have no expectation of gladness at Christ’s return.
God refines at both a macro (corporate) and micro (individual) level. Suffering can show who in a group loves God. It can also be used to sanctify each believer.
