God is sovereign over all things and we must grow to realize that God is in control of everything.

We need to be people of character, not people who are characters. The interior of our lives is more important than our outward appearance.

It is better for us to attend a funeral than a birthday party because it confronts us with our own mortality and it gives us a chance to number our days and gain a heart of wisdom.

It is better to receive the rebuke of the wise than to laugh with fools. We need to be willing and able to listen to the constructive criticism of people who are wiser than we are. Those who are wise wait on the Lord because they know that the best is yet to come with God.

Wisdom provides protection for our soul.

We don’t have the power to change something that we don’t like. If god has made it crooked, only he can make it straight.
