- Joshua 1:1-9
- 2 Timothy 3:16-17
- Joshua 9:1-27
Throughout the book of Joshua, God speaks and is generally a sign of positive outcomes for the people of Israel. When the Lord doesn’t speak to Joshua there usually trouble brewing. Today, we are utterly dependent on hearing God’s voice in the word of God. We may not hear an audible voice of God, but he has spoken to us through the Bible.
We may choose to obey or disobey God’s commands, but we cannot choose the consequences of our (dis)obedience. A single act of disobedience can bring with it cosmic ramifications.
It is much easier for us to see the devil when he is roaring like a lion then when he is slithering like a serpent into our lives. Because it is often so difficult to detect Satan’s schemes we need wisdom that goes beyond any we can derive from our senses.
If we want to effective in our christian life, we must infuse our mind with the word of God.
