Passage summary: Even if the unthinkable, unlikely, unjust, horrible thing happens, you’re blessed because you’re saved by God and God is great.
Am I zealous for what is good?
It is unlikely that doing good would lead to harm or suffering, but if that unthinkable event happens, we are still the blessed ones since we have fellowship with God.
It is never God’s will for us to be jerks. We are called to stand for truth and the good news, but not to do evil.
We cannot be afraid of those around us that might cause our suffering. Instead we need to honor the Lord and be ready to share the good news with love, gentleness, and respect to those who might be causing our suffering.
God will be glorified. One way to show how valuable something is is how much people sacrifice to have it. When we suffer for Christ’s sake, we show him as valuable and desirable.
